After Further Review - Did Justice Butler Say What I Think He Said?
I was watching the Badger basketball game Friday night and missed the debate between Butler and Gableman. After watching the re-broadcast of We The People this morning I couldn’t believe what Butler said about the Sheriff’s in Wisconsn. Is he saying the Wisconsin Sheriff’s don’t follow the law?
Judge Gableman asked Justice Butler, ‘After serving on the Supreme Court for more than three years, why is it that over 3/4ths of the Sheriff’s and a majority of the DA’s don’t want to see you returned for a 10 year term?’
“Well, I know why a number of the Sheriff’s have opposed — and you know this as well — it has to do with a collective bargaining decision that the court made last year in Kocken, Sheriff Kocken’s, case up in Green Bay and it has largely to do with this decision.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court held it is a matter of following State Law — and you’ve indicated you want to give fair application to the plain meaning of the law — that he was above the law, that as a constitutional officer he did not have to follow the law, he did not have to follow the process that was set forth by the Legislature, in ending or trying to remove a contract that was already in place between the County and a Union that was in place there.
And so, for that reason, a number of the Sheriff’s were upset because the Wisconsin Supreme Court said that if Presidents of the United States have to abide by the law, if Justices of the Wisconsin Supreme Court have to abide by the law, then so do Sheriff’s. And that was, in large part, a reason why they are not supporting me.
As far as the DA’s are concerned it has to do with the misleading info that was mailed to the DA’s as this race started and you know what that information is.”

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice
Mike Gableman v. Louis Butler
Louis Butler is terrible. Not terrible in a general sense, but out and out a bad judge. His “opinions” and history will tell you that he by no means will, or has been, a judge that 1) is tough on crime, and 2) will NOT legislate from the bench. Without doing anymore research than I have already done, one red flag pops up; that would be the RINGING endorsement of Lena Taylor for Louis Butler’s judgeship. If there was no other reason for voting for Gableman, that endorsement would have to be the lynch pin!!!
Will Congress Do The Right Thing?
Wisconsin’s First District Congressman Paul Ryan issued a statement in response to yesterday’s release of the Social Security Trustees’ Annual Report. According to the report, Social Security and Medicare continue to face a mounting, and increasingly urgent, financial crisis that threatens U.S. fiscal and economic stability.
“The alarm has been sounded – this is the third consecutive Medicare warning. Hitting the snooze button, yet again, is not the right choice. Congress is lucky enough to have yet another major opportunity – in the FY09 Budget Conference Report – to do the right thing. Americans should demand we take it. Because our actions on this issue, or lack thereof, will have an impact on these critical programs – and our nation’s economy – for generations to come.”
It Must Be The Glasses
Americans for Prosperity’s Mark Block is blogging. He was inspired.
I just spent two day with Roy Innis. Mr. Innis is 74 years old and the national chairman of the Congress of Racial Equality.
He came to Wisconsin on behalf of Americans for Prosperity to discuss the hysteria surrounding the Global Warming issue.
In all of his meeting he continued to tell his audiences - The American People Are Good People and Want to Do The Right Thing - If Only They Know What The Right Thing Is.
Our mission is to educate them on what we believe the right thing is. They may or may not agree. But if they only get one side of a story they will not have the facts to Do the right thing.
In a way, Mark kinda looks like Spike Lee.

Oh me - Oh My - Butler or Gableman
As Wisconsin Director of Americans for Prosperity I issued a press release this afternoon.
We asked people to visit Judgepedia.com, an online wiki-encyclopedia about all things related to America’s judges and judicial system. Judgepedia is a project of Sam Adams Alliance.
Judgepedia will help citizens Do The Right Thing.
In case you missed it - The Wall Street Journal editorial page had this to say about the Wisconsin Bar Brawl.
Vicki McKenna, Charlie Sykes and Eric Von
Vicki McKenna is the rock star of radio. She had Roy Innis on her show in Madison on Wednesday afternoon. You can hear the interview
here.
Charlie Sykes told me last week when I attended his event at the Country Springs in Waukesha that he would schedule Roy Innis on his show on Thursday.
Eric Von called me back and said it would be great to have Roy Innis on his show Thursday afternoon.
Roy Innis, one of the true icon’s in the Civil Rights movement was in Wisconsin on behalf of Americans for Prosperity and gave testimony on Wednesday afternoon in Madison at the Governor’s Task Force On Global Warming.
Both his testimony and his interview with Vicki McKenna can be found here.
When Mr. Innis called Eric Von on Thursday afternoon he was told that because of technical difficulties only in-studio interviews could take place - Mr. Innis had a plane to catch and could only do a interview by phone.
When confirming the Thursday in-studio interview with Charlie Sykes we were told that the interview would not take place.
Perhaps this is why Vicki McKenna is the rock star of radio - and the common person. She Did The Right Thing.
